About
My pieces came out of a desire to create what I could not find… unique, interesting and affordable pieces that reflect who I am. And I believe my pieces do just that. I was a graphic designer before I became a jewelry designer. I never considered it much of a change since for both I draw inspiration from my environment and work with elements I find interesting.
I was lucky enough to grow up with the original Martha Stewart. My mom was constantly using things she could find outside to decorate the house. She preferred to gather the elements for a beautiful center piece from our backyard rather than buy one from the store. More than a few times I thought she was nuts as I watched her pulling ivy off the house which she proceeded to wrap around our dining room chandelier! If she had any left over she would always find a use for it. One year the extra ivy ended up as decorations for birthday gifts. Therefore, it seemed only natural
that when I made the transition from graphic designer to jewelry designer I knew exactly where to look for inspiration.
So, be careful people. No matter how hard you try to avoid it, you do become your parent. Now I am the one grabbing buds off of neighbor’s trees and bushes and asking friends if I can take their junk off their hands. I like to hunt around gas stations and construction sites looking for rusted pieces of metal or search the Goodwill for old leather belts. Why buy it new when you can get it for free?
Right mom?
